The Richard Burks Lincoln Heritage Award
This award is presented annually on Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, February 12, to a specific individual, group or organization in recognition of significant contributions which have added to the understanding of the heritage of LaRue County and to the perpetuation of the ideals and traditions of Abraham Lincoln and the Lincoln Days Celebration. Recipients will be selected on the basis of participation in community activities and events and for any other involvement which has promoted public understanding of the relationship between past history and community life today.
Award recognition may be based on outstanding involvement during the award year alone, or it may be for cumulative efforts over a longer period. In either case, the final selection will be made on the basis of involvement which has conveyed the significance of past heritage of LaRue County to current residents and to visitors to the area.
The Mary Brooks Howard Award
This award symbolizes the importance and the positive impact that each and every volunteer contributes to our organization. This award may be presented annually to an individual, group or organization whose volunteer efforts and dedication are instrumental to the success of the festival.
